In support of Stand Up For Science, enjoy this science:

Stars that go supernova are responsible for creating many of the elements of the periodic table (e.g. C, Fe), including those that make up our bodies

You & I are both made up of the same star dust

Stop funding wars and start funding science

I went to Montreal 3 years ago from London and back by train. 9 hrs each way and cost more than flying. Sure we had the Bs with us and biked to and from the station. But it was so inconvenient. I can’t believe how archaic the whole system is.

Studying neural circuits is all about connectivity. So why cut up your sample? This #FluorescenceFriday, we're highlighting some mesmerizing 3D neural circuit data scientists have generated with our sample processing techniques and #SmartSPIM imaging on whole mouse brains.

@DrTrozzi

Our pets are being weaponized against us. You think your cat or dog is getting a vaccine, but they are being genetically modified to make foreign genetic code that self amplifies as well as well as foreign viral proteins.
This risks a new dangerous level of "shedding" beyond the C19 mRNA shots.

Veterinarians are actively administering Merck's Nobivac
NXT for rabies, flu & FLV.
Injected pets are likely shedding samRNA onto humans across the country.

New neuroscience job at Wilfrid Laurier University. You may not know the name, but science has been growing fast. It is also down the street from Canada's top tech university (Waterloo) and a world class physics institute (Perimeter). I feel happy and lucky to be here careers.wlu.ca/job/Waterloo...

No group thinking here. Are the injectable vitamins still a thing? Intravenous of course. I also hear good things about taking peptides. So Cialis, pot, injectable vitamins, peptides, some testosterone and I am golden.

Am I wrong to understand that now Americans will pay 15% more in imports from all countries? If all imports are taxed at 15% that is just taxing Americans that much more? So much for republicans being about lower taxes i guess.

Celebrating Byron Caughey, 1957-2026 Byron Caughey, a wonderful friend and mentor and a giant of the prion research field, has passed away.

This personal account of Byron truly highlights the type of person he was, simple one of the best www.cureffi.org/2026/02/18/c...

Here is to Byron Caughey who left us too early. A kind person who lived life to make friends and help others. His legacy remains in the many people he trained in the prion field. I have seen a number of well written tributes to him, including this one. πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

We had a Network for Prion research which funded a lot of targeted work and I was contacted out of the blue. I established a number of collaborations that last to this day. This all happened because this amazing scientist contacted a young professor in Brazil and reached out to collaborate.

Over the years Byron invited me to speak in meetings and vice versa. And we had occasional emails exchanges and phone calls. Few years later I moved to Canada and emailed Byron to tell him. He quickly helped me to set up collaborations in Canada. And i am quite sure he advocated strongly for me.

Byron was not just an accomplished scientist, he was also a true gentleman and a generous collaborator. Ana published many papers working as a visiting student and returned to defend her thesis to receive an award in Brazil. She has told me so many times how well Byron received her in his lab.
