I just want to tip my hat to the crack team of White House economists who were able to discover--in just a few short days--that the U.S. is dependent on China for smartphones, computers and semiconductors.

You put a clickbait sensationalist headline to basically say “I barely lost any charge at all” 🙄

Zuckerberg urges Trump to stop the EU from fining US tech companies Comparing the bloc’s antitrust penalties to tariffs, the Meta boss argued that Brussels is “screwing with” American industry.

I’m on the EU’s side on this.

And so should be every global citizen that does not want their online world to be flooded with disinformation.

Twitter is just getting progressively worse as more and more sane people leave the sinking ship and what remains is a cesspool of nastiness.

No, I’m just saying that if consumers aren’t taking it into consideration as a purchase criterium and if there is no government regulation enforcing it in most markets, it’s hard to blame OEMs for not making it a key consideration in their product design trade-offs.

Same answer as with cell phones: When was the last time a consumer chose a certain brand or model because the battery was easy to remove or disassemble? 🤷‍♂️

Going to Mars makes very little real life sense anyway other than as a sci-fi fantasy. Might as well go live in the middle of the Sahara or go play Waterworld in the middle of the ocean. Both of those are much less harsh & hostile environments to sustain life compared to Mars.

We could build a giant floating island of solar panels off the coast, include a desalination plant and an electrolyzer, and send ships over to fill up on freshwater and green hydrogen 😄

Surprising number of Brits in there but I guess that makes sense in a way 😅

Do you expect that when EVs hit end-of-life the batteries will be mostly recycled, or mostly shipped off to a grid storage facility until they have no more cycles left in them?

I don't understand how they can be 3 months away from what their biggest AI release ever and not yet know whose LLM they're going to use?

Gotta wonder if the ambition of building this in-house simply failed and this is the backup plan. Or is this more like iCloud being built on top of AWS?

Nanoplastics linked to heart attack, stroke and early death, study finds | CNN People with nanoplastics in their arteries were twice as likely to have a heart attack, stroke or die early from any cause, a new study found.

Bits of plastic wrap and plastic bag found in the carotids of 150 ppl. Micro/nanoplastics seen via electron microscopy of plaques removed from patients. May be associated with higher risk of cardiac events. Early & limited study but depressing none the less.

Is it time to rethink plastics yet? 🌎🧪
