currently working on 014 btw
011~020 have kinda lots of things to do
011: need to manip 2 koopas' positions
013: make cleft crash into a wall
014: score grind
016: score grind
017: need to manip 2 koopas' positions
saved 14f
now truly finished room 001~010
there was a bottleneck on room 009 as i expected so optimized prior rooms for it
the difference between v1 and v2 in room 001~010 was like 3s iirc
though that's mostly because v2 doesn't have thoreau
i personally call:
the first pit% tas i made as v1
the second one i was making when mhc has been found (unfinished): v2
the third one i'm currently making as v3
saved 86f in room 001~010 compared to v2
an improvement I made spending 30 mins was rounded to nothing by frame rule
even a 60f slower branch at that time could be the best option in the future but itβs very unlikely
I think 30f is a good threshold but still having too many branches with that
iβm still thinking about how many branches i should follow, or what branch i should abandon
surprisingly I found a very fast room 009 layout
faster by at least 20f compared to other layouts
+setting up a good enough environment that I can just make the rest of it without thinking that much
I wanna reach room 020 in this month

like until room 030 there are 20 door patters and most enemies are easy enough to kill so there are lots of viable room layouts
there are too few bottlenecks in the first half so possible branches expandes very quickly
probably room 011 is the first bottleneck I would meet but idk
there are many branches to think about. that's okay, though I can't help but think massive efforts I put into those could be meaningless after a few rooms
I almost missed a lot of potential branches cuz of silly bug
so far so good

keep spending the whole day playing rabbit and steel for like a week xd
only solo hard/lunar and a grinding achievement are left so I will be back to pit% tas soon
and the mchanics are awesome
ex lunar is lile 3x harder than normal one
