I think this is why like no matter how shitty things can be sometimes in the corperate side it's a genuine love shared by many around the world and that's way more important imo. On that note on a rewatch of MGS4 like. Snake and Raiden's relationship actually made me cry??? It's so WEIRD but sweet and that scene where Raiden is on the floor and crawls over clings to his leg in a weirdass hug got me more than anything "normal" would have

The family (Raiden included. He's like. Weird uncle's friend who babysits) is weird and very nonconventional and THAT is what makes it cute and sweet, imo. That they're a family despite all the circumstances!!

Like I get liking sweet domestic stuff but I think these two's domesticity is going to be complex and different from a typical couple no matter which way you slice it? Both have tons of trauma and Snake has been a tool of war so long he barely feels like a person, like. C'MONNN

Imo its less the style of game to criticize but that the definition of cozy had narrowed into a right little box. Being older, I'll call any comfort game cozy even if the game itself isn't the most welcoming (like Monster Hunter)

Well I think Tahk0's entire point was that cozy game used to mean whatever's cozy for you. Could be replaying the same challenging game you're familiar with, could be anything. But now it's synonymous in meaning with a kind of your perfect world life sim only

I think there's been enough puzzle games and the like that prove that wrong, the issue imo is dumbing down the idea of "cozy" to having no friction, like some people start to expect it of all games labeled cozy which is really weird, because Sim games usually have some level of friction
