ironically, a lot of the complaints about XIV right now is that it doesn't take ENOUGH time, which I disagree with. There is a line, we all have our own tolerance levels, but I feel as though there's enough MMOs that waste your time. I'll play those when I want that. We can have one that doesn't.
in conclusion: Everyone's a critic, but knowing how to give good criticism is a skill that many people do not have. If your criticism/feedback ignores the goals or intentions of the subject, it sucks

at a certain point it feels like people complaining that their spaghetti doesn't have fried rice in it. Then why are you at an italian restaurant instead of a thai one?
criticism is good and we should discuss it, but sometimes it really does feel like some people want the game to be completely different than what it's trying to be, to the people it appeals to. There are many flavors of games for your varying cravings. XIV is not those games, and that's okay.
Really the solution is if you're tired of it and don't like playing anymore, you can stop. That's what I did, I took a break when I wasn't having fun anymore and wanted something else that wasn't XIV. But I crave XIV again, so I'm playing it again. You'd think it'd be that simple for everyone.
I feel like I'm going insane, all of the things people used to say were positive selling points about XIV for the past five years are now suddenly bad? like yeah the game is incredibly casual and you can leave for a while and it respects your time and is a FF game first, MMO second

anyone experienced with reshade able to help me with an issue? for some reason any AO I try to use seems to apply it as if the reference object(s) are a few pixels off from where they actually are and I'm unable to find the setting which may be affecting that. for sure, it respects the players time, but at the cost of some novelty and social aspect imo
seeing a bunch of people outside the raid/dungeon/trial I think would benefit the social aspect for the game. at a cost, yes, but every game design decision has a cost
hot take: with the exception of duty roulette, I think you should have to physically be at the raid/dungeon/trial location if you want to queue for that one specifically
it would populate the world and you can actually see who is around doing that duty
