Ed Iβve talked to investors in the round and seen the latest board deck:
- gross margins are positive (Dario just said this on Dwarkesh as well) and have been for a few quarters
- nothing is ephemeral about their revenue
- the investors already think they got a great deal based on more recent data

The image at left is of Galileo's birthplace in Pisa -- on plain looking 4-story pink apartment building. On the right his is ornate baroque tomb in Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence. Pix by me, 2009.
Happy 462nd Birthday to Galileo Galilei, born #OTD in 1564 -- a crucial figure in the early stages of what we now call the scientific revolution. Here are photos that I took in 2009 of his (rather humble) birthplace in Pisa, and his ornate tomb in Florence: #science #history #histsci

Two piles of uncooked udon noodles on a wooden surface with rolling pin above
This was QUITE an epic journey (stomping the dough by FOOT five times?!! Letting it rest twice ?? Having to do CPR on the dough because it was under hydrated?? Going to battle with the rolling pin!!) And all this just for two servings!! But it looks promising β going in the freezer as a meal prep!

A starfield with many small and colorful stars is dominated by comet Lemmon which is oriented diagonally in the frame. The comet has a greenish coma and a diffuse yellowish dust tail is pointing up from the nucleus. Layered with the dust tail is the blueish ion-tail which is much narrower and longer, stretching beyond the top of the image. The ion tail shows some slight undulations from changes in the comets activity over time.

A young Black girl in a white blouse and red jumper dress walks down concrete steps while being escorted by four U.S. federal marshals in dark suits. The marshals surround her protectively as they descend the steps of what appears to be a school building. This iconic photograph captures Ruby Bridges being escorted to school during the integration of New Orleans schools in 1960.
Happy birthday to Ruby Bridges, who is the reason I was even able to pursue proper, fair higher education. What she had to endure as the first Black child to integrate schools was unimaginable. I will forever be grateful. β₯οΈ

A non-native buddeia, living up to its common name, 'butterfly bush'.
Seems great, but by enticing insects away from native plants, these risk going unpollinated, thus declining. Insects need those plants with which they evolved in other crucial ways, eg food for larvae.
