Great to attend the Annual Philip Monahan Memorial Lecture at UCC today. A pleasure to meet @nicolasturgeon.bsky.social and hear an inspiring talk on leadership, community and the strong Irish connections in Scotland. Important reflections for future generations.
I’m looking forward to taking part in “Community Matters: Housing – A Discussion Forum” at UCC Library to discuss solutions and hear from the community.

I joined Douglas Young at Heart yesterday to celebrate International Women’s Day. Fantastic sense of community spirit and celebration. Great to meet Cllr Mary Rose Desmond, Minister Jerry Buttimer, Seamus McGrath TD, and Cllr Kieran McCarthy. Well done to Ber and your hardworking team.
A lot of people attended the Bessborough Virgil in Cork yesterday. We all understand the housing crisis, but building on this site will hurt even more people who have already been deeply affected. I hope to see this planning permission refused at the appeal stage. We will continue to stand together.

What a fantastic day in Dublin Central! Had a mega canvas in Stoneybatter covering 450 houses with tons of amazing people, and a super positive reception on the door, followed by a delicious lunch in Tang on Abbey Street organised by Mná Glasa 💚! #JanetForThePlanet #DublinCentral #Politics
Happy International Women’s Day! I’m genuinely blown away by the amazing women who support me every day, knocking on doors and making the case for me to be the next TD for Dublin Central.
Deputy @rodericogorman.bsky.social puts it to the Minister for Transport that while infrastructure takes time to build, the new BusConnects bus timetable for Galway already has many of the bus lanes - it just needs funding for buses and drivers.

Thank-you Galway City Tribune for using my favorite photo from the Green Party Convention last weekend. And thank-you to all the other supporters in the photo. @greenparty.ie #galwaybyelection
Always a pleasure 💚💚💚
Cllr Kamegni collecting rubbish.
I was delighted to be out today cleaning with the Mahon Tidy Towns.
I was overwhelmed to attend the rally standing up for workers' rights, organised by Trade Unions in Cork today.
With Busconnects Cork coming, we would hope some of these questions are answered. busconnects.ie/cities/cork/
Excerpt from NTA report on Cork.
Cork city is moving toward a healthier, cleaner and more connected future. Our goal is ambitious but achievable: 50% of all journeys in Cork City by 2030 to be made by walking, cycling or public transport. Let’s keep building a city where sustainable travel is the easy choice.

The latest NTA report for the Cork Metropolitan Area shows 83% support reducing speed limits to 30km/h in built-up areas.
I put forward a motion in January calling for the most ambitious possible 30km/h speed zones across Cork City.
Safer streets. Safer children. Strong public backing.

59% support School Streets — yet we have zero schemes locally. I’ve begun engaging stakeholders about introducing a School Street at St Luke’s School, Douglas.
Safer school runs. Calmer streets. Healthier communities. The support is there. We need to make it happen.
Active travel is booming in Cork! Walking, wheeling and cycling take up to 82,000 cars off our roads every day, reducing congestion and emissions while boosting health and wellbeing. Support for more investment in safer, connected streets is growing across our city! 🚴

I understand the housing crisis and the urgent need for more homes. I fully support and encourage housing delivery in Cork. But Bessboro is a delicate and very sensitive issue. Join us this Sunday at 1pm at the gates of Bessboro. Come and show your support.
Proud to support Cllr Oliver Moran’s motion for a Housing (Emergency Powers) Act. As I said today: no parent should have to share a single room with their teenage son or daughter, yet this is happening in IPAS centres in Cork.
Housing is an emergency. Let’s act like it.
Thanks Fiona!
Cork greens abú!

I am at the Green Party Convention in Kilkenny with my fellow Cork Greens!
Honoured to see former President of Ireland Dr Mary McAleese speak last night at the “Building Bridges” event hosted by the UCC Government & Politics Society. Fantastic turnout — and great to meet UCC President John O’Halloran.
Proud also to stand in solidarity yesterday, like my colleague, Honoré Kamegni, with overstretched teachers, parents and children who deserve better.
The government have U-turned for now and deny their cuts to special needs assistants were "never signed off on" — after defending it all last week.
Cllr Kamegni with Dr McAleese.
I was delighted to meet with the exceptional, powerful, and well-respected former president, Dr Mary McAleese, in UCC, Cork yesterday. Thank you Dr. McAleese for your support and encouragement regarding the online abuses that I received on Facebook recently. You are a legend!
I am in City Hall to support our women during the Lady Mayoress International Women's Day celebration. Great to share in this celebration of women’s voices, achievements, and support networks across our city.

Powerful and dignified protest outside Cork City Hall yesterday in defence of our SNAs. The Green Party stands with children, parents, and school communities demanding certainty. A pause is not enough. Proud to stand alongside my colleague Cllr Oliver Moran in support.
I was proud to stand this evening in solidarity with families, their children, Special Needs Assistants & educators, at Cork City Hall to protest the Government's handling of the SNA Scheme.
They must bring in long-term structural reform instead of this chaos that brings uncertainty to so many.

Looking forward to attending the International Women’s Day Event this Friday at Millennium Hall, Cork City Hall. I am grateful to the Lady Mayoress, Karen Brennan, for hosting and for bringing together so many inspiring organisations under the theme: “With knowledge we thrive, with support we rise.”
