this match is fucking incredible and not taking a second off
my image comes entirely from the fact at one point I was spending €200+ a month on GP visits and medication, which is now £0 a month. that was including with the drug payment scheme. at different points I’ve had to stop medications because they were out of my budget, and that’s the core of it.
I can’t speak for the other NHS services of course! but I know a number of people who would have simply died back home from being too poor to access healthcare vs the NHS, and ultimately that’s what makes me think it’s the better service
from my experience I have had consistently friendlier and superior health interactions in my 4 years in Scotland vs my 28 in Ireland. as someone with multiple chronic issues it was too expensive for me to deal with 80% of my problems! having access to free and fast healthcare has been life changing
I love and miss home, and lots of things are better back in Ireland, but they can absolutely go fuck themselves for the HSE. abysmal service that costs money and doesn’t work properly whatsoever. yank shit.
in Scotland I was told there was a very long waiting list for my service, expecting to hear a decade they sadly told me it would be a year. I nearly laughed in my doctors face. Ireland is an embarrassment and is killing people
it kicks in eventually! honestly such a delightful time, you’re going to have a blast from this point on. the books not being necessary is great because it’s like an easter egg for long term fans but accessible for new ones, setting the games after the books was an excellent call

finding witcher gear is worth it, you’ll fall into a playing style that suits you, and lower difficulty is still worth the story. it really opens up later and is so fun! also Gwent is definitely my favourite mini game of all time ever ever ever
