It's endlessly amusing how many monoglot speakers of English (!) have come to the conclusion that, because they don't know how Welsh is pronounced, Welsh spelling is unreliable and chaotic.
Keep this in mind if you're ever tempted to suppose that the average person is good at reasoning.
