Ig Nobels ceremony moves to Europe over security concerns
Marc Abraham: βDuring the past year, it has become unsafe for our guests to visit the country."
The IgNobel Prizes, usually bestowed at a ceremony in Cambridge, Mass, are moving to Europe this year due to security concerns for honorees and journalists coming to the US from abroad.
I bet I know who's going to win the IgNobel Peace Prize this year.

This study, and Stephenβs write up on it as a professor actively teaching these skills, is fascinating.
I donβt *officially* teach coding skills, but I often find the difference between someone whoβs good at their job and someone whoβs marginal is *exactly* those skills that most decreased here.

All @ijpsjournal.bsky.social authors are special to us, but it is a particular treat to publish undergraduate research. To celebrate our undergrad authors, we started making mock journal covers featuring pictures of undergrad researchers at work. A thread of mock covers from 2025. /1

Reacting to the presence of chatbots with assignment that ask students to look for mistakes in something they got a chatbot to spit out is not a sound approach to teaching your course material.

First-Gen Students More Likely to Drop Out Due to Low GPA
A recent study finds students who are the first in their family to attend college are more likely to drop out after receiving a negative grade.
First-gen students are 5% more likely to drop out after one bad grade. Why?
Because they donβt always know how to recoverβlike switching majors or withdrawing. Academic setbacks shouldnβt be the end of the road.
