Been working on making a more powerful saidi. There are so many styles of dance that includes the cane/ stick/ assaya so I try to keep my style closest to the vibe you see in the region (while still keeping it me). And a chiller stick is feeling good today.

6. My shows this weekend were referred to me by other dancers- that vote of confidence means so much

One of my goals this year is to feel surrounded by support. It’s really feeling like that, in a world that seems fully dedicated to separating us all.

4. Patricia Clark-Gilley is helping organize a virtual class with Kyrria Mazin and musicians from Luxor.
5. I’m working on a very ambitious finger cymbal piece that’s finally starting to feel natural, though not complete. Im excited to get this to folks for feedback.

2. Adrienne Thor, Margarita Ramos, and I have started a traditional dance group I’m pretty excited about.
3. RaqsNews has started a black belly dance directory. We’ve been getting a ton of people request to be added. (Majda Anwar Qaqish getting to work with you is a literal dream)

Things are politically incredibly frustrating and infuriating.

1. Rhinestone Revolution: Spectacular Showcase is already shaping up really well. (This is a hint to sign up for workshops and get into the show now)
