I'd have to listen again, but I'm pretty sure he was referring to the maida vale studio stage, not stages in general.

30 years today since Tori Amos released her exceptional 3rd solo album, Boys for Pele ๐๐๐โช๐ฆ
"Too bad the burial was premature", she said and smiled.

Morning spent putting up the Christmas tree with a soundtrack of Bjork and Tori Amos live performances. They always bring the magic โจ
Do it. I went solo to a gig on the Night of Hunters tour and it was amazing. I kinda preferred it, because I didn't have to sit through the whole gig being conscious of whether the friend/partner I had dragged along was also enjoying it.
Tori Amos never played Lilith Fair. I believe she was invited but turned it down because she felt she didn't fit stylistically, and also because touring with a grand piano is a logistical nightmare if you're having to fit into a specific time slot with little time to tune the piano properly etc.
Because she's a raisin girl ๐
Very satisfying to see a retrospective 9.2 rating of the perennially underrated and underappreciated Tori Amos from the famously opinionated and hard-to-please Pitchfork crew.
The album left most critics scratching their heads upon its release in Jan'96, so it's nice to see history being righted
It should never have been consigned to being just a bee, it's such an audaciously epic track.
Interesting theory about Benjamin. Tell me more ๐
Hotel would be another possible choice, I reckon.
And Flying Dutchman.
Both exceed the 5 minute mark and feature numerous stylistic shifts throughout.
Tori Amos has been my number 1 since I was 14 and likely always will be
But Joanna Newsom operates on a whole other level to everyone else. Utterly unique and beguiling.
So yep, those two.
A man of great taste, clearly. Whilst I don't personally agree with all of the specific album picks, the artists themselves are undoubtedly all ๐ฅ and some of my absolute favourites.
Ooof! Every single second of this is just absolutely enchanting and transports me right back to the height of my Tori fanaticism. Doughnut Song sounds especially stellar here ๐ฅ๐ช
I'd love for Live in NY and the 5-and-a-half weeks TV special to get a digital physical release, too.
Especially these expanded live iterations
27 years since Tori Amos unleashed one of my favourite albums ever - From the Choirgirl Hotel - onto the world. An unimpeachable masterpiece that still sounds as fresh today as it did back in 1998. Tori Amos at the height of her creative alt-pop powers. #90s #toriamos

Nothing in this world makes sense anymore, including the fact that Tori Amos has released this unannounced side project mini-album to accompany her children's book. It should be largely forgettable, yet it just so happens to be her most musically-adventurous offering of at least the last 15 years.
As a teacher in Spain (albeit in a private school) the political views of the young people I teach are far from progressive. They despise Sanchez and openly spout pro-Franco propaganda (and most of their parents vote Vox). I fear the next election will see the right take charge once again.

This is a venn diagram showing how 69 Trump actions map onto domains covering: undermining democratic institutions; suppressing dissent and media; dismantling social protections; attacking science and education; destabilising the global order. Trumpโs first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up.
Iโve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9
I wrote this song 13 years ago about a horrific homophobic attack in America I'd read about. The lyrics have now taken on an even more ominous tone since Trump took office, as he once again legitimises hate towards minority groups.
