I understand. Thank you for what you are doing. I've been getting non English speakers trying to prepare habeus petitions and file pro se. People who have been detained 1 to 2 years are begging for help. It's very heavy.
Are you able to file in the 9th circuit? I work for a nonprofit in Arizona and I've got lots of people needing help with habeus. Local lawyers are overloaded, too expensive or untrained.

On my first day training new cadets, I received secretive orders to teach them to violate the Constitution by entering homes without a judicial warrant.
For the male detainees the guards refuse to remove handcuffs when they use the bathroom. They can't wipe. The woman get one hand released.

Account of woman released at the shelter. "I had just arrived at the detention center and was afraid and crying for my 6 children, the youngest a baby. They told me to stop crying and when I couldn't, they forced me to strip naked in front of male guards and put one of these straight jackets on."
How many are left?
Our shelter received a 4 week old baby and his mom a couple of months ago. Mom and baby had spent the previous 2 weeks sleeping on the floor of an ICE holding cell in the ICE Phoenix office.
What keeps them from doing more? Countries won't accept them? I know with these 3 women ICE tried for months to find a 3rd country in Africa but no country would take them.
Our shelter continues to receive Camaroonian women who are doing the $5 do-it-yourself habeus petition and getting released. Today a woman told me that a fellow detainee from Equatorial Guinea was deported to Camaroon which is in the middle of a civil war. It's an abomination.
We vote by mail.
I had another woman from Cameroon yesterday. She said they tried to get several African countries to take her but were not successful. Is there a way we could communicate directly?
Released detainees say they must ask permission to use the restroom. Women are uncuffed on only one hand and given no sanitary supplies, leading some to bleed through their clothing, while men remain fully handcuffed. When asked about bowel movements, one man said, “I can’t talk about that.”

A woman come to our shelter with a 3 week old baby. Her family had been franticly searching for her since the birth. She and her baby had been sleeping on the floor of an ICE holding cell since the baby's birth. They are not entered into the ICE locator until they are placed in a detention center.
She is probably too afraid. A reporter from Telemundo tried to get her to talk about the measles outbreak in Arizona detention centers and she started crying. On bus to east coast now. I can check with her later in week.

Met a released detainee from Cameroon at our shelter today. She started crying talking about being threaten with deportation to one of these African countries. She has a withholding of removal. She had been in detention 17 months and was released today by a federal judge under a habeus petition.
The Florence Detention Center in Arizona is under quarantine due to measles. Please someone report on this.
