Three more Salmon and Ingram diaries are now online at cardiffnaturalists.org.uk/htmfiles/Sal...
These should be if fascinating to anyone who's got an interest in the local birds of the Cardiff area, bird photography, early photography and some now quite rare birds
I think we met that film crew one day when we were looking for a Leopard with a cub. I only got a very poor picture of it, nothing like their quality
I had a good look at their vehicle and filming kit and definitely had camera envy!
For those watching the excellent #Attenborough series #Kingdom and wanting a bit more, and maybe remember the talk I gave to the society, I've got a load of pictures of South Luangwa wildlife on my website
shenstone.me.uk/galleries/tr...
As well as the photography they were clearly making a lot of useful Ornithological records, just take a read of this from the CNS transactions in that period and wonder how many we don't find any more
We've not worked out where "Craig Jenkin" is can anyone help?
These were dedicated people when it came to their craft..
GSCI.
11th August 1909 "Got up at 4.50am & at 5.15 Herbert called for me & we cycled up to Craig Jenkin with ยฝ plate & stereo cameras to take photographs of young nightjars. Arrived at Cairn on top at 6.15 after tremendous pull up the hill."

We thought you may like to see these from our archive ..
If you read the 1897 one you can see that there must have been some very short memories back then !

In our opinion these are ripe for anothere project if someone wants to engage with the Museum on doing so.
They had the Ingram diaries that we are now putting online catalogued as Salmon's diaries, but we were able to prove that was incorrect and have sorted them out
