We love bringing new ideas and voices to our campus and community. In 2025, we had visits from @jmijin.bsky.social, @cplusc.bsky.social. @cleanenergygroup.bsky.social and more.
We worked with @buildingdecarb.org and @nature.org to advance energy transition solutions.
Delighted to share the IEE's 2025 Year in Review. The IEE had an amazing year delivering energy transition assistance to local communities, producing papers on battery storage and thermal energy networks, and getting students ready to make good change.

VLGS Distinguished Energy Scholar @jmijin.bsky.social give an amazing Hot Topics Lecture, βA Just Transition for Whom? Understanding the opportunities and limitations of a just energy transitionβ on how to center justice into the move away from fossil fuels.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with @buildingdecarb.org on this project and to show what our students are capable of. Creating a just, clean energy transition is the central mission of the IEE. This report is an important tool for states who want decarbonized thermal heating systems.
π’ New resource alert! The Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) Legislative Guidebook from BDC & @iee-vermontlaw.bsky.social can help state policymakers, regulators & advocates shape the legal landscape for an equitable, decarbonized future. #BuildingDecarb #ThermalEnergyNetwork zpr.io/DN9qngpbEDX8
Our students bring experience and expertise to our program and make us all better. Happy to have Peggy talk about her exciting work to accelerate transmission system upgrades.
Peggy Giordano from the Department of Energy's Grid Deployment Office, and VLGS 1L, talked the IEE about her work supporting a stronger and more resilient transmission grid.
What do you do when your student works on federal grid deployment strategies?
You invite them to present. So happy to have Peggy Giordano from DOE's Grid Deployment Office, and VLGS 1L, present on the GDO's programs to create a stronger, bigger, and more resilient transmission grid.
Christmas party in the Vermont Law and Graduate School's Energy Clinic.
Our year round Energy Clinic trains the next generation of clean energy advocates (and clean energy gingerbread house builders). The Clinic serves local communities looking to access clean energy and this semester worked with communities in Vermont and New Hampshire.
Congrats on a great semester!
Welcomed @justinmikulka.bsky.social from @oilfieldwitness.bsky.social into my Oil & Gas class to talk about the future of the oil and gas industry, unfunded liabilities, and pulling the "emergency brake" on methane emissions. Conversations with experts also make for a better learning environment.
