But perhaps it could be an indication of a different underlying problem others have been unable to spot.
If high TPO levels were a risk factor for LC, I guess a GWAS could spot that. Of course other studies looking at TPO levels haven't found anything. Possible that those had problems with cohorts or type 2 error, but differences in pathogenic tend to be so big that I think it would be hard to explain.
Mean duration since last infection is 23 months but majority of LC patients had LC for 6 months? Seems like the LC cohort could include recovered LC patients? p-value not corrected and 𝛘 only reported in graphs, is that standard? Didn't see a mention of presence of autoimmune conditions?

Ja, da das Aktivitätsniveau LC nicht immer niedriger ist, wäre eine Analyse mit PEM und ohne PEM bzw. nach Aktivitätsniveau wünschenswert. Wird bei solchen kardiovaskulären Studien immer eine Rolle spielen wenn es nicht eine inaktive Kontrollgruppe gibt wie in manch anderen Studien.
Ein direkter Vergleich zu HC dürfte wohl schwerer sein alleine auf Grund des Gewichtunterschiedes der Gruppen zu den HC sowie ihres Aktivitätlevels. Wäre schön wenn es auch eine nicht übergewichtige Gruppe an ME/CFS und LC Patienten gegeben hätte. So bleibt der Hauptvergleich zwischen ME/CFS und LC.

Studie zu kognitiven Problemen bei Long Covid.
Vor allem Aufmerksamkeit und das episodische Gedächtnis waren schlechter und vor allem durch Fatigue, nur indirekt durch Depression, erklärbar. Benutzt wurden unteranderem die FLEI scale und der Stroop test.
