It has been years since I've flown out of O'Hare and first time out of Terminal 5.
If you are taking the CTA to O'Hare you have to walk to Terminal 2 then take a shuttle train to 5, so add a half an hour to your journey to be safe (also just in case the CTA is slow).

Yes and I do think some of folks I otherwise agreed with but found frustrating on this have shifted into a more expansive view, in part because the entire movement has. Though I do wish it was more understood many people who have to drive don't want to, maybe not yet the majority but a lot.
The majority of transit advocates get this, but some do not realize how much their stances are informed by a reactionary capitalist individualism that ignores material conditions when pushing ideals & end up can echoing a right wing contempt for weakness even if that is not intended at all.
Part of advocacy means thinking beyond the self & recognize how rare it is to enjoy ideal circumstances for certain options - distance of commute, health, whether one has dependents needing one home at a certain time. Distance of affordable grocery. If there is intense cold, heat, rain.
This situation is striking because the unhoused organized with tenants union methods, worked with community groups, got support & offer proposals - and Parks scheduled an eviction.
Maybe this great coverage by Prout will get them to provide housing for the whole group.

Johnson is up against rabidly anti unhoused alderman - but with a close ally running the parks and other powers, this is a fight he could pick. Alas, the unhoused are not a powerful constituency.
Johnson's dissonant record on this issue is shown by aide Jason Lee trying to trade a sweep of homless encampments for votes supporting the mayor's intiatives including putting a housing fund resolution on the ballot, (he succeeded but, alas, it lost).

This is not unexpected even with Carlos at the helm because when it comes to the unhoused, the Johnson adminstration may have proopsed a housing ordinance but they as lib as they come - wanting them to vanish & treating them like shit.
