You can decline being weighed, or if it is required as part of your post-op check ins, you can tell them you’ll step on the scale facing away from the numbers and request they not share it with you. It was a revelation for me to learn that a few years ago!

✨2025 is a wrap! In my 2nd full year as a corporate event show caller, deck manager & producer, I spent 118 days on the road and 29 days working in KC.
I did 12 corporate events - 4 show calls, 4 deck manages, 4 producing... AND I called 3 ballets, 1 musical, 1 symphony event, and a holiday party!
I’ll be there! My first LDI and my first conference as an attendee!

Well this was a 70 hour 7 day work week. 🫠

I enjoy living in an era where I can send a photo to the prop supervisor along with a text saying “this will make sense in a sec when you get the rehearsal report”. My brain is so fried at the end of the day, I can’t always find the right words to accurately describe things at length in a report.

The table also holds a large yellow tape measure, several rolls of spike tape in and out of a cardboard box, a laptop and some office supplies.
Anyway here’s a picture of me prepping spike tape for Drops in a frantic attempt to be done taping at least the scene we were about to rehearse before the rehearsal started. Sometimes we’re building the car while driving it down the highway.
It has been a long time since I’ve SM-ed a musical. This one has about 40 kids - I have one ASM and no youth cast coordinator. The producing charity’s staff is great and stepped in to wrangle! Today was rehearsal day 1 and we did a bit of music and moved straight into staging! My brain is melted.
I have to wash my light color Hokas every few months so they don’t get gross. Today on our dog walk, a bird shit landed perfectly on top of my freshly washed shoe as I walked under a tree. Good luck to me I guess?
My left eye had an occasional but daily twitch for a few weeks. A few days ago I realized it had stopped twitching! Yesterday my right eye picked up an occasional but so far daily twitch. 🫠
Why yes I am the kind of person who will call the front desk when there are ducklings stuck in the hotel pool. 🦆 (the staff were great and got them out with a net. The lifeguards were just… watching the poor things frantically swim around trying to get out, so not quite so great).

I have discovered the hard way that pizza with red sauce is no longer for me. I ate some on Monday and my body is still throwing a rebellion about it. Great vibes for being on a work trip. 🫠

Niche stage management post: I love getting all the cues before tech but I forgot how brain breaking and time consuming it is to put all the cues and stand bys in the score en masse the day before moving to the theatre. 🫠
Today I learned one of the benefits of Southwest A-List is you get to board at the end of A group if you’re in B or C. A delightful surprise after I had to shift plans and take an earlier flight with a later boarding position. 🛫
