It's a lot worse nowadays, but even back when shipping CODs in the early 2010s, there was always anxiety around the time a game wrapped/shipped because you didn't know if you'd get let go or kept on for the next gig. But at least back then it was easier to jump to another gig that was ramping up

This sounds like it lines up with how EN version of Haurchefant was practically nothing like the horndog version in JP. I'm sure EN / Koji Fox / localizers thought they were being very clever with their changes, but I REALLY wish they had stuck closer to the source material...

He should know better... in this day and age no "yet-to-be-burned-out high performer" is going anywhere near a place well known for heavy crunch. What you get instead is yet-to-be-burned-out newbies who will burn out far sooner and leave the industry entirely
