Week 2 of working on my Tower Defense Roguelike! We've got new units that animate, destructible forests, gamepad/mouse/touch support, better menus, branching paths, multiple biomes.
Making good progress!

Slay the Spire 2 :B: | 5/5 stars
Early access, so take star rating with a grain of salt. But so far this seems very fun. Not crazy different from the first game, but it's nice to have new enemies to fight, new events, new characters. So far Necrobinder is my fave!
Who is saving this daylight and for what reason? That's what I wanna know.
Started working on a little tower defense roguelike in my free time. This is about a week of progress. Getting the water in the top right to animate correctly took BY FAR the most time out of anything in this gif, haha.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land :C: | 5/5 stars
100%'ed game+DLC with the kiddo. Really great co op!
Pretty funny how early Kirby bosses are like:
- Mean tree who drops apples on you
- Bad penguin with hammer
Then late game bosses are like:
- Horror from Beyond the Stars
- Sephiroth
- The Thing
It... is? Mostly I see people saying it and Skyward Sword aged poorly compared to other zelda games.

Nice game to co op with my kid. Reminds me a lot of Superstar with the power variety, and the big movelist for each power. Seems like there's a decent post game too which is cool!
I swear some game devs lost their minds in that era with button mapping. I think kirby super star DS also reversed jump and attack from the SNES game and didn't allow remap. wtf??
Ball X Pit :B: | 4/5 stars
Very fun, kinda Vampire Survivors + Breakout. The combinations are fun to explore, I got pulled in for hours at a time.
Not 100% sure on the base builder part, kinda made my characters overpowered at a certain point.
2026 Games Beat Thread
Most movies are pretty simple. Black and white, no dialog, basic stories. Shrek (2001) changed that.
Watched "It Was Just an Accident" yesterday. Really cool movie, does a lot on a budget that seems to be somewhere near $0. Also apparently the director had to stealth film it while dodging the Iranian KGB? Wild stuff.
A Short Hike :C: | 4/5 stars
Very charming little game that evokes the nostalgia of nature summer camp and also the awkwardness and anxiety of being an early teen. Definitely check it out if you're looking for something short and cozy.

Finally got around to watching Sinners and... it's kinda bad? Like, cool vibes, cool music, and then characters in a horror movie making the dumbest decisions imaginable over and over.
