can someone who is good at army tell me how this would work? am I being dumb and it's actually simple? because it seems like there's nowhere to invade hormuz from that's not on another continent or already in the gulf, and either way your route is parallel to hundreds of miles of enemy coastline
Trying to think this through as a total novice and my questions are "Where you base the 10s (100s?) of thousands of invading soldiers?" and "How would you get them there?" and "Do you just load them all into boats to ride 100-1000 miles to Hormuz, under fire?" and "Where do you get the boats?"
Oh, and also, I know precisely zero about Army, but one is forced to wonder - how do you even get the troops there? This isn't like air strikes where there are decades of new tech ensuring we can shoot them without them shooting back. The main technology seems to be "man in a boat" just like in 1944

The strait is shallow. Shipping lanes generally go between the islands. You can't hug the coast in a supertanker.
