Do you mean you took the car with 100% SoC and were able to drop it with a low SoC at no extra-charge? π
V2G yields benefits for everyone, not only those that drive bidirectionnal charging vehicles.
It reduces prices for everyone, even fossil-fuel drivers and non-drivers.

In fact I read somewhere charging station is 1km away from the wind turbines...
But direct lines are not allowed when there is a DSO monopoly, are they?
Does EU RED allow to bypass the DSO when it has a monopoly on distribution, to supply directly a charging station from a PV or wind farm?
Is colocation with batteries, behind the same meter, a smart thing to do?
Do solar canopies over parking lots make sense?
Can the (negative) impact of (excessive) listed building regulations be quantified?
Are dynamic feed-in tariffs going to become widespread?
Vehicle-to-grid can also be grid-stabilizing. For example, @nuvve.com has been regulating frequency on the Danish grid with electric vehicles for the last 9 years.
Distributed batteries and vehicules will be pieces of the puzzle. Because they are behind-the-meter, they can do more than utility-scale batteries : bill optimization, self-consumption, back-up, local flexibility, ...
π Behind the scenes and day after day, Nuvveβs V2G tech is delivering real, commercial impact across Europe. By turning parked EVs into mobile energy assets, weβre helping grids stay balanced & clean β reliably and quietly, without compromising driver convenience. The future of smart energy is here.
π©π° In Denmark, Nuvveβs vehicle-to-grid solutions are more than just innovation β theyβre a daily reality. Danish EVs routinely deliver grid services, balancing frequency and strengthening the energy system quietly in the background. All this happens while drivers go about their day, uninterrupted.
β‘ For years, Nuvve has been powering Europeβs energy transition quietly and consistently. Our commercial V2G technology enables EVs to support grid stability by regulating frequency β all while vehicles are parked and ready to drive. Itβs clean energy in action, without disrupting everyday life.
Honestly, I'm flabbergasted. Place de l'Etoile is one of the worst places to drive through. Vehicles come at you from every direction, it's scary.
π Nuvve is expanding its IP portfolio by acquiring Fermata Energyβs assets, becoming the sole leader in V2G tech. By combining resources and expertise, weβre accelerating innovation for a future where EVs enhance grid resiliency and energy security. www.businesswire.com/news/home/20...
Utility Regulations: While utility regulations arenβt yet designed for V2G, Nuvve finds creative ways to integrate EV batteries into storage or demand response frameworks. As utilities increasingly seek demand-side flexibility, regulations are evolving to accommodate V2G solutions.
Bidirectional Chargers: Recognizing the challenge early on, Nuvve developed our own PowerPort AC charger and a range of compact All-in-one DC chargers. We also maintain strong partnerships with charger manufacturers to ensure we stay ahead.
Bidirectional EVs: Vehicles capable of safely discharging to the grid and communicating with chargers are still rare. Nuvve is leading the charge with 8+ years of experience, advocating for standards like 15118-20 and J3068/2, & pushing automakers to integrate V2G as a key feature in their new EVs.

Canβt monetize your vehiclesβ batteries flexibility? Nuvve can collaborate with utilities to educate, share best practices, and help kickstart their V2G journey. #V2G #EnergyInnovation #NuvveEnergy #CleanTech
Electric vehicles and batteries can alleviate demand charges, electricity price volatility and the pitfalls of time-of-use tariffs, to optimize electricity bills of the whole site where they are parked.
They're in the CapEx spending business : the more transformers they deploy, the more copper they put in the ground, the more returns they get from their asset base. This does not incentivize non-wire alternatives and distributed grid modernization solutions such as flexibilities from DERs.
High Power bidirectional chargers are key to unleash the flexibility of heavy duty vehicles
European automakers, charge points operators and the flexible energy industry have a shared vision of the benefits of V2G and what it will take for a smart integration of electric vehicles (EVs) into the energy system

By 2040, V2G could boost Europe's solar capacity by 40%, adding 430 GW to the grid! πππ‘ EVs aren't just vehiclesβthey're key to integrating more renewable energy. At Nuvve, we're driving this clean energy revolution. β‘π #V2G #SolarEnergy #EVs #Renewables #Sustainability
Deploying V2G is one part technical challenge and nine parts convincing utilities, automakers, charger manufacturers, law makers and fleet operators to engage into flexibility services β a more difficult task than discharging an electric vehicle.
