seems like our representatives have an obligation to do what’s needed for people in the long term despite the short term backlash. it’s simply not feasible for us to drive cars around for the next 50 years, for both environmental, financial, and logistical reasons

reaction from who though. other drivers or homeowners? the general public usually support policies in favor of multi-modal streets and housing near work centers.

It’s easy to blame Republicans and fossil fuel companies right now.

But most car trips are mandated by urban land use policy.

And urban land use policy is 100% controlled by Democrats at the state and local level in LA and SD.
