These photos remind me of the harrowing x ray photos I saw of Palestinian children with bullets through their heads, with doctors confirming that there’s no way this was an accidental hit, especially when they see it over and over again. Sworn enemies (Israel and the IR), the same brand of violence.

When I say that the Israeli government and the IR government are two sides of the same coin, this is a prime example. The overt cruelty to harm the people they attack, when not just killing them outright. For Israel, it’s Palestinians reporting occupation, but for the IR, it’s its own citizens.

It’s hard to take some of the fellow people in the diaspora seriously when they talk about human rights violations when they neglect to mention them when they occur anywhere else in the world, by the same bastions of power that folks are saying will save them. It’s been an insanely isolating time.
