The "replacement" is a module on the LCS aka Little Crappy Ship. From I have read there are not that many modules period and the LCS has proven itself unsuitable for anything but a visual reminder that the Navy should not be allowed to supervise procurement period

As the threat of mines in the Straights of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf in general I am reminded of this article in The War Zone in which a few months ago the trump admin PULLED all the minesweepers out of the gulf.
