I was initially shocked she knew so little about the show. She also asked me if it gets better. Mulder and Scully (more so Mulder) were what was keeping her going. But then it hit me. Oh, yeah, she wasn't born when it started airing! 🤦♀️ She was also excited to learn there are funny episodes to come.
Had lunch with a friend today who shared she's watching The X-Files. First time. About to finish S2. She asked me to spoil one thing. "Do Mulder & Scully end up together? Please tell me they do. They have to end up together." 😆 I said it's complicated & a slow burn, but yes. She was very relieved.

Annnnd the Oscar race for best actor just got interesting! Michael B Jordan seemed genuinely surprised. And Ethan Hawke seemed genuinely thrilled for him. Class act. And who I thought was the dark horse Oscar contender.
Definitely. And it was also interesting they were given the better material. Their bit was probably the best part of the show. Love Connor, but all the stuff they gave him was cringe. I had my hoodie over my head by the end of the show.

Damn. This is the first awards show I've watched where there has been one posthumous recipient, Catherine O'Hara, and a nominee, Martin Short, not in attendance due to a death in the family. 😟
The Actor Awards suffer from off timing, lame humor and cringe as much as any awards show. However, being broadcast on Netflix means we get to hear all the swears and are free from commercials. So, more good than bad!
