When i found out i could run Windows from a flash drive, i made one 'just in case' and switched to 100% Linux. I have yet to even touch the flash drive in the 2 months since switching. It's been great.

Have you tried Bottles? The last time I tried switching to Linux, Wine was the standard solution for running Windows apps in Linux, but I found out about Bottles recently and it's leaps and bounds better than Wine had been.
Linux and other open source software has come a long way in recent years. I think a lot of people will be making the switch. Many of the word processors out there can do the same stuff Word can, only way less evil. 😇
