Almost a year later and I am staring down the barrel of a full time APS job and fluctuating between wanting to start my masters part time versus just leaving it… life really is just a series of “how stressed do I want to be in the near future” type decisions huh
Been applying for jobs like crazy ever since my degree oficially wrapped up! By applying for jobs I mean playing Baldur’s Gate 3 for 10 hours a day
So I’m fairly certain I passed all my classes this semester, which means I’ve effectively finished my degree… it feels so weird not having to think about classes next semester 😭 I can’t believe I have to find a job now. I’ve been scammed
3 hours until I sit my FINAL final exam of my degree, I’ve been waiting for this day for what seems like forever 🥲 (this cheat sheet is also my masterpiece)
Just submitted my final assignment of my undergraduate career!! Exams next. Imagining how I'll feel walking out of the last one should provide ample motivation.
Just realised my last two posts consist of me dreading meeting my supervisor to me giving my final presentation on the project which he supervised. Clearly I was just locked in this semester and not wasting time on other websites
Gave my talk on classifying polarised spectra using self-organising maps today! Surprisingly it seemed to go off without a hitch. Now to just finish writing the paper... surreal to think I may actually be graduating in just over a month!
I'm meeting with my potential supervisor for a research project in 3 days and I am equal parts excited and wrought with dread, I know next to nothing about galactic magnetism LOL I need to hit these books hard
2 exams in one day on 2 hours of sleep! I am the original starwalker
On the bright side, I probably now know more about H I tails of Virgo cluster galaxies than your typical person on the street who has zero interest in astrophysics
If there's anything this journal club assignment has taught me, it's that I have no idea how to process scientific articles efficiently. Is it normal to have to stop reading every few lines to google a word?
New Alien movie! Interesting to note that the last time one came out, I was only just starting my tertiary education journey to study astronomy - fitting to close out the final year of my degree with another?
Just started reading House of Leaves. Roughly 100 pages in and I can see why this novel should never be adapted for film (it could never do the book justice)

Passed all my final exams and managed to do well on all my courses this semester! One more year of this whole uni thing until I'm free (until I inevitably come wandering back begging to be accepted to study my masters)
Just sat 3 exams within the space of 22 hours; I think I’ve earned myself 5 minutes of not having to experience the burden of thought
Had a really fun Halloween with my friends last night; we even did some pumpkin carving for the first time! No power outage like last year though, so noticeably less spooky.
I think I'm just going to treat this platform the same way I did twitter back in 2011. Only then, I was still in high school... now I'm about to finish my third year of my BSc! If I survive exams...
