Trump would “create more, not less, stability in their lives”.
What? Just… what?
Whether you like his policies or not, there is nothing stable or consistent about his governing.

literally your customer base was 90% parents of young children who want a good future for their kids in which they can be free to be themselves, no matter who they are. you told those people to go fuck themselves. they won't be back
“That's a problem for people who interpret polls for a living.”
That undersells this result. I think it’s a problem for American society itself.
And of course the estate would never win a wrongful death case what with ICE immunity and the rammer’s provoking actions.
I’m not even sure life insurance would pay out due to the intentional reckless endangerment for their life.
And that’s all in addition to the felony conviction they’d have for interfering with law enforcement. Assuming they survived ICE’s retaliatory brutality.
And the ICE agents— despite being immune for their own thuggery— would probably have successful causes of action for any injury or distress they suffered. In addition to them getting admin leave and workers comp payments/help.
They’d have to pay for any repairs they wanted to make on their own vehicle and ICE’s rental company would sue for the damage to ICE’s vehicle. And the insurance company wouldn’t defend in court either so add on attorney’s fees.
It wouldn’t just be the deductible. Insurance wouldn’t cover anything for an intentional act like that.
When South Korea successfully stopped a coup, arrested the former president, and prosecuted him, it sent a very strong message to everyone else:
"You can trust that 4 years from now, you won't have to worry about him returning and fucking everything up."
The US under Biden did the exact opposite.
things every single republican president of your lifetime has done
- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy
The Washington Post's description of the bodycam video of his arrest last year, and the translation of Mr. Shah Alam's comments, is gutting. Remember, he was entirely blind in one eye and could only see three feet in the other, and he spoke virtually no English.
He spent a year in jail for this.
The richest man owns X.
The second and third richest men control Google.
The fourth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
The fifth richest man owns The Washington Post.
And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros.
See the problem here?
It's just insane the degree to which the federal government has simply declared war on a U.S. state. A punitive war with no discernible objective other than to immiserate its people. bsky.app/profile/apne...
This has nothing to do with fraud.
The agents Trump allegedly sent to investigate fraud are shooting protesters and arresting children. His DOJ is gutting the U.S. Attorney’s Office and crippling their ability to prosecute fraud. And every week Trump pardons another fraudster.
Hello! I’m the reporter who has been tracking citizens detained by immigration agents. And last night, I noticed something: A lot of them were at the State of the Union, including a number of whom I’ve written about.
Their stories should be known:
Photograph of a dramatic pancake-stack layered supercell thunderstorm with multiple bright lightning bolts striking the surface around the impressive towering updraft looming over a rural landscape. In contrast to the illuminated cloud structure, a deep blue starry night sky is visible on the left.
The first photo I captured of the 9-23-23 Ada, OK supercell (after a few test shots). Yes, all three lightning strikes were captured in a single image! From my distant vantage point, this intricately-structured supercell gracefully danced under a sky full of stars with unmatched beauty. #Photography
Gallego: "They're going and racially profiling people and rounding up Americans until they can prove their citizenship. That money came from kicking millions and millions of Americans off Medicaid. It was the same bill. They cut Medicaid to expand ICE."
Yesterday with your help, we paid the rent for five Minneapolis immigrant families in need. Rent’s coming up, donations are down, and there’s still so much need here. Let’s help as many as we can today!

On January 10, 2026, while driving back to work after getting lunch with his father and cousin, a car quickly passed O., sped up, then stopped in front of him. (Id. ¶ 3.) A few men in civilian clothes stepped out of the car and asked for his identification. (Id.) The men threatened O.—if he did not get out of the car, they would force him out. (Id.) O. exited the car and was told he was under arrest. (Id.) The men handcuffed him and did not allow him to bring his phone. (Id.) O. felt like he was being kidnapped. (Id.) The men detained O., his father, and his cousin, taking them all to Whipple. (Id. ¶ 4.) At Whipple, there was “food scattered on the floor, the floor was sticky with mud, and everything stuck to your shoes.” (Id. ¶ 5.) The space was so cramped that sometimes there was no space to sit on the floor. (Id.)
The horror stories rolling in from Minnesota are just the tip of the iceberg. This 20-year-old, who's lawfully present in the country, was arrested for being Latino, then jailed in a filthy cell where he couldn't even sit down. 18 days of illegal detention. democracyforward.org/wp-content/u...
The drunk uncle theory.
You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there
Great cause, if u are available, participate in the Hells Kitchen benefit as well for Mercado Central tomorrow from 9am-4 pm in DT Minneapolis
See you there!
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social
a table labeled "How common is your problem, how helpful is the response?" There are three columns labeled common, rare, and novel and two rows labeled Actual Human Expert and LLM. Common problem, human expert: helpful Rare problem, human expert: more helpful Novel problem, human expert: most helpful Common problem, LLM: helpful Rare problem, LLM: unhelpful Novel problem, LLM: harmful
i feel compelled to remind everyone that chatgpt/LLMs are functionally the *opposite* of an actual expert.
the more your problems are unusual or novel, the more likely LLMS are to be wrong. they are least helpful when it's most important
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.
I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.
Hundreds of kids are still detained.
We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵
Oh can’t it?

Child at the podium: “A woo woo woo.”
Mamdani: That’s how I felt when we came up with this plan. Together, we will expand the idea of what is possible in our city—and what sounds and noises we can make at a press conference.
