White box with headline in orange: "Most Drastic Tightening of EU Asylum Law: What the Latest CEAS Developments Mean for Those Affected"
Behind it, an image of a detail from a mural of a European flag, where the yellow stars form a barbed-wire fence with a blue crowd of people standing around it.
CEAS Reform: Tightening of EU Asylum Law. Mandatory fast-track procedures at external borders categorize by origin rather than individual merit. This erodes the right to asylum anchored in the Law. "Asylum procedure detention" effectively turns facilities into detention camps—even for children.

Screenshot einer Instagram-Story des Accounts „marc_raschke“. Oben steht „Mega Idee @eltern_gegen_rechts“.
Heute in Heilbronn:
„Wahlcheck“ mit der AfD auf dem Podium.
-> Tickets ausgebucht
-> Saal fast leer

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.
Hundreds of kids are still detained.
We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

when you say "this isn't christianity" what I and other non-christians, who are sharing this country with y'all
what we hear is "this isn't my problem"
the thing is: it is all of our problems
but my team doesn't have the option to opt out of dealing with it

When you pointed out that it looked like a duck, they called you hysterical.
When you pointed out that it also swam like a duck, they said sheesh Bluesky is such an echo chamber.
When you said and now it's really quacking a lot like a duck, they accused you of relativizing earlier ducks.

Inside the effort to organize clergy nationwide to resist ICE

NEW: I was one of 3 reporters granted access to the convening of 600+ clergy in Minneapolis this week.
It was a striking show of solidarity with MN clergy resisting ICE, but heralded something else: the emergence of a vast, faith-based network trained to resist ICE. religionnews.com/2026/01/23/i...

Happy that the Syndicate Symposium on my "Terror and Theology" (@mohrsiebeck.bsky.social 2021) is out! Given how many talk about the return of "Großraum" à la Schmitt again, it's weirdly timely. Unfortunately! Thanks so much to Ryszard Bobrowicz (@bobry.bsky.social) for putting it all together!

Man, it must suck to be stigmatized and denied access to public services.
If only a single thinking person in this evil administration were capable of extrapolating from such an experience.
