A dull morning turned into a bright, breezy afternoon. Just a bit too breezy for some of the daffodils so theyβve come inside
More daffodils on a dull day. Not mine this time but from an open space nearby
At the garden centre today and puzzled by the idea of dinosaur ornaments for the garden. Also puzzled that anyone would pay nearly Β£1000 for one π€·ββοΈ
Garden daffodils to brighten another dull day
Seem to have come back from todayβs jaunt with a touch too much sun. Bizarre for the time of year
I stumbled across it when looking through the Sawdayβs website as they list holiday cottages there. Seems a bit close to home for a holiday but the idea of being able to wander round the garden after day visitors have left is very tempting
Out to somewhere new today - Easton Walled Gardens near Grantham. A lovely day to be outside
6500 steps today. Not far by some folksβ standards but Iβm feeling tired and stiff
Daffodils and snowdrops at Shipley Country Park today
Walked to the wood to look for frogspawn but the pond was empty other than reflections. Did find some interesting fungus and flowering sloes though
A day pottering in the garden, clipping back shrubs before birds begin nesting, and looking for more signs of Spring - bergenia, muscaria, the first ladybird Iβve spotted, and bits of rocket and landcress to liven my lunch time salad
More flowers from yesterdayβs visit to Calke Abbey
I saw quite a few along roadsides on the way there too. It really felt like Spring
Lovely afternoon in the sunshine at Calke Abbey
Not sunny today but dry enough to do a small amount of pruning and tidying in the garden, accompanied by pigeons and blackbirds sitting on branches and the roof looking like theyβre auditioning for The Birds
Sunshine is bringing all the spring flowers out
Nice in the distance rather than just outside the door
The skies cleared at last - hurray! - so I managed a short walk without getting soaked
Yes!
Todayβs short walk took me round the playing fields where I spotted snowdrops, daffodils, and blackthorn buds. Spring is coming
Weβve even had a sunset! It seems ages since the skies cleared enough to let the late afternoon light through. All the little birds are noisily singing, and it feels like spring is on the way
It rained all morning but this afternoon the sun made an appearance so I ventured outside to see the snowdrops
The rain stopped briefly so I had a potter round the garden and found crocuses and hellebores in flower
One of the front garden clumps of snowdrops started a few years ago from half a dozen bulbs moved from the back
Back to wet weather today. Good to have daffodils to brighten things up
One day at a time. Onward and upward, and all that. But be prepared (if itβs at all possible) for the return of waves of overwhelming grief
Hope it wasnβt too hard a day x
A late afternoon burst of sunshine encouraged me to go hunting plant pots, seed trays, and freezing compost to warm before setting seeds tomorrow. Now trying to warm my fingertips before bringing laundry inside
Another dull day but looking ahead to summer with a delivery of Suttonsβ seeds. Mainly flowers as we have veg seeds left from previous years
