Ok, if anyone spots a snowball on the Northern Line, that would probably be mine.
In the meantime, here’s today’s #EarringAdvent!

The Chinese Room Argument's fallacy of the passive executor. We present the Glass Room metaphor, showing that LLMs, as Complex Adaptive Systems, resolve internal semantic conflicts via emergence. The system now understands the consequence of the symbols it manipulates.

We need to talk about women’sΒ centres β€˜Women’s centres should not be part of the criminal justice system.’ 'The idea that if something is painted pink and has the tagline of β€˜empowering women’ then it is helping women, is not only harmful but is simplistic and dangerous.' So says Dr Gemma Ahearne from the University of Liverpool in her blogΒ Β The Problem with Women’s Centres…

What's going on with women's centres... ? lets start a conversation please. would love to hear from other countries to about similar developments

After organising the Pan-London Forensic teaching for several years, feels very strange to not be there! What a fantastic programme. I’m a little envious.

Excellent neuropsych event with @mikejay.bsky.social this evening. Enjoyed the nod to the forensic psychiatry conflict! Excited to read the book.

This is your annual reminder to go to the Koestler Exhibition at the Southbank Centre. As always, it is infused with beauty, wit, and sorrow in equal measure.

RIP to the most excellent of buns. 13.5 years of age (late 90s in bunny years), with each one filled with chaos. JP, you will be so deeply missed.

When I was a medical student I was taught about schizophrenia using the art of Bryan Charnley. Seeing Indecision in the new @bethlemmuseum.bsky.social exhibition was a delight. Art offers us so much in unpacking the human condition and this museum remains an excellent (free) space to explore!

With the orchestra it was just stunning! I wasn’t familiar with her before, a kind invite from a friend. So I was very much won over too!
