The theme today is βKicking Womenβs Cancerβ and fans could pick up ribbons. Since Iβm wearing my custom βOGβ NCI @washingtonspirit.com jersey, I went OG with my choice of ribbon #melanoma #ScienceIsReal Always grateful for the opportunity to move us forward to the medicines of tomorrow!

Looking for recommendations, I have been in a historical fiction groove for a bit, but have exhausted the Maisie Dobbs series and Connie Willis and the time travelers.
An interesting debate! I think both answers are ultimately correct. IMOβ¦Unmodified cells are the answer now. Proven, safe, with impact. But not perfect, and engineered cells may well be the future. (And Surgery Branch abandoned IL-2 and IL-12 engineering with early technology)
Thank you for capturing so much of these meetings! #grateful
Absolutely. And would read it with my βrealβ choices to get my first ending, and then would go back and try to map all the alternate endings.
The retrospectoscope is the easiest tool to wield in science and medicine. And it distorts real-time knowledge and decisions. And users of it should not be put into leadership positions. Facts matter.

I feel like thereβs been a lot of feeling of loss latelyβ¦. Washington Spirit heading to the NWSL championship after a masterful PK performance by Aubrey Kingsbury is a massive win.π₯ #woso #nwsl #washingtonspirit
If you donβt see government scientists standing up for themselves and their work, itβs because it has been drilled into us with yearly Ethics training that we fall under the Hatch Act. And we tend to follow rules.
Prose by Joe Mills from Planet Word: If librarians were honest, they wouldn't smile, or act welcoming. They would say, You need to be careful. Here be monsters. They would say, These rooms house heathens and heretics, murderers and maniacs, the deluded, desperate, and dissolute. β’β’β’ If librarians were honest, they would say, No one spends time here without being changed. Maybe you should go home. While you still can. JOE MILLS
As seen at Planet Word (circa 2022) wouldnβt be who I am without growing up in my local library.
Following migration patternsβ¦ but also switching to a personal accountβ¦ Iβm a surgeon-scientist studying cellular immunotherapy for metastatic cancer. I also happen to be a former theatre kid (with a love of Sondheim) and a new fan of womenβs soccer. β½οΈπΆπ©π»ββοΈ
