I’m a college professor, and although it’s easy to mock and ridicule this fool, to hear the President say that Harvard is a threat to democracy is chilling. This will invariable lead to a much bigger social movement against academia. It must not be allowed to succeed.

President Obama found “The idea of intentionally trying to deceive people in their most vulnerable moments” particularly upsetting at a 2024 rally. He was right then and he’s right now.
He’s nothing more than an amplifier of all of the worst of what we are as a society. He’s a vehicle for the B-team to have a seat at the table. Their performance is exactly why we don’t let the B-team start. If this was a movie it would be criticized as over the top.
Irony: those who fly the Gadsden "Don't Tread on Me” flag, a symbol of resistance against oppression, are the same who support the greatest governmental power grab in our history. What they call freedom is actually privilege. Their closed minded views can’t understand what freedom really is.

Exactly. Politics has always been about compromise. No one ever gets everything. It’s about the big things at the big moments. And right now there are plenty of big things. Good for you. We need more people thinking along the same lines.
I will not be surprised when we get to the next election cycle and there remains the “but I don’t really like how they voted on issue A, so I’m not sure.” The house is on fire and democrats complain about the quinoa burning. Every time. Never fails.
