Inability to campaign and message to me is an excuse not a reason. We missed good candidates during primaries because voters hadn't seen a commercial. We have septuagenarian Reps and Senators because too many were too lazy to learn about anyone else on the ballot.
And what about the other branches that the Republicans now control?
