Wrote about this dilution a while ago when expansion was first making the rounds. The more sales that take place the less sure I am there will be expansion. New owners buying at exorbitant prices are probably planning on holding for a while, where the cons of expansion might outweigh the pros.
As @duckingthetax.bsky.social noted, $250M is *not* the full 30% figure that Chet could have received if he wins MVP/DPOY or makes All-NBA.
Based on the current $165M cap projection for 2026-27, that would have been around $287M.

By my math, the Pistons might actually have to guarantee a little more than what his dead cap hit would be to get to the salary floor. But DET will have 2 roster spots and ~$14 mil in cap space.
