I have really only seen praise for this series, which leads me to believe that a lot of this vitriol are from the same loud-mouthed elitist bigots that always come shipped with web-communities. The paleo community is not a special case and i don't think there's really much that can be done about it.

My first console was a DS, so naturaly i played a lot of 64 on it. When the time came for me to advance to a new console, the original super mario 64 had long since cemented itself into the vagaries of time. It wasn’t untill All star that i actually got to try it.

Trade people for their art, socialising or both, there is nothing wrong with either. Expect that anyone in good faith will decline if they actually don’t want to. I think you’ll find plenty of very talented people who would jump at the chance to trade you.
