You should probably stock up on drinking water too. Untenable...
Yair Wallach is one of just two people I follow for political insights. Highly recommend his thoughtful comments (and his scholarly works on urban texts and ephemera also great).
I encourage everyone to consider attending one of the many demonstrations planned for tomorrow across the country.
Show up. Demand accountability. Peacefully protest.

@tennispodcast.bsky.social Been hitting refresh on podcast app for nearly three hours! In Indiana and waiting for you to weigh in on the 2025 men's final! Spectacular as I think? Or am I a prisoner of the moment? Or did I hallucinate it all?
college newspapers are critical right now...
really addicted to the em dash--admitting the problem is the first step to overcoming it.
Unbelievable...
Riffing here, but would a comparison to FLN in 1950s be useful-FLN killed more Algerians in 1st 2 years of War of Independence than French. Leaders upped violence, as I understand it, with belief that subsequent reprisals would generate attention overseas and mass movement at home.
Highly Recommend! Yair Wallach wrote a great book on urban texts (ephemera), and he gave an engaging talk with students in my Arab-Israeli class last semester. www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/writing-je...
This was a great article, and it really informed the organization of my class on "The Arab-Israeli Conflict" last semester.

It's crazy that this & previous governments (rightly) constantly hymn 'Britain's world-class universities' and (rightly) consistently identify them as central to national strategy, and yet pursue policies which are eroding, if not destroying, an asset that other countries would give anything to have
It was my biggest fear when I first heard that cursive would no longer be taught in school, that so much history would be lost to future generations, and here we are.
