You can do them as a reversed image but I prefer not to as it squashes the pattern a bit. The 'standard' back leaves ridges which gives the blanket at lovely squishy feel and a sort of shadow of the pattern on the back.

I do use a chart, but you can't use a cross stitch chart for this technique. There are some specific rules to mosaic crochet that mean each design takes a lot longer to create. But I love the effect it gives and the lovely way the stitches stack on each other.

Its super squishy!! I don't have physical yarn shops round me so its always a bit tricky when I need to use a new yarn. I'm using a 5mm hook but it could easily go up to a 6mm.

Things that make a crocheter nervous... switching yarn brands!!! My favourite aran/worsted yarn is a nightmare to get hold of at the moment, so I'm giving Hobbii a go. Really happy with the squishiness. This is for a new design that I've created 100% for me!! 😍🧶
