Parker administration ends community-led opioid settlement grants, leaving Kensington programs in limbo The Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund, or Prevention Fund, used a community-led grantmaking process to distribute $3.1 million to 43 organizations in 2024.

Our accountability reporting has increased government transparency and shed light on new initiatives. We were the first to cover the city's move to end a grant-making process that allowed residents to decide how opioid settlement dollars were distributed.

Ending drug tourism in Kensington starts with calling the drugs poison Every summer, Kensington faces an influx of drug tourists and misery tourists. To fight back, the city must brand the drug supply for what it is: poisonous and painful.

Philly teens are building foundations for the future through this free Kensington carpentry program The Building a Brighter Future through the Art of Construction program draws young people from across the city.

New Kensington ‘fast-track court’ lands most with warrants, back into the cycle of addiction and homelessness Kensington Voice collected and verified data on 87 people who were arrested during the first months of the program and tracked their journeys through the court. Most ended up with Wellness Court bench warrants after the city lost contact with them.

Our latest story on Philadelphia's new "Wellness Court" follows what happened to the people who were arrested for the program in its first 6 months. The court targets people using drugs, and offers diversion to treatment or a same-day trial.
