Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

There is no marketing I'm more susceptible to these days than any company saying they don't use generative AI in their projects. I'm a sitting duck for that promise even if they're selling graham crackers or masking tape.

If trans people want/need to leave, that is worthy. It’s also worthy to stay and fight, or to need to stay and still need rights. Queer folks in red states need and deserve our support at least as much as the work being done from “safer” states

like this isn't 2012, there are no national queer rights orgs who are flush with cash. Everyone I speak with is dramatically cutting their budgets. And red state queer orgs are always fighting uphill on a shoestring budget.

My challenge to you today is to google a red state queer org and donate.

There is a world changing technological leap happening right now, and it's happening in green energy, and the right is desperately (and unsuccessfully) trying to stop it. But I guess that doesn't count

I don't know if I'm the first person to ever explain this to you, but humans are far more willing to tolerate the occasional irritating behavior from someone they have a history of positive interactions with than from a random dude who showed up to argue! Because that is how humans work.
