This is what happens when one of the stupidest people in history is in charge of your government.
We shouldn't mix up the end point of learning with the process of getting to that end point. Children don't develop a wide vocabulary because they've been direct instructed in words. They learn language through conversation and experiences. Focusing everything towards memorisation is a mistake.
This was the antithesis of ‘happy ever after.’ I’m around the same age as Diana and I remember thinking there was something very ‘off’ about it all at the time. Especially the ‘whatever love means’ interview. What do they call it nowadays - ‘ick?’

Lots of food for thought here. It made me think, in a world of Trump, Farage, Netanyahu, Le Pen, Orban et al, of the line from the Eagles song: ‘there are no more new frontiers, we have got to make it here.’ Whether or not we live in a free world 5, 10 years hence is up to all of us, right now.
Yes. I believe it was um…vigorously negotiated, but the U.K. had very few cards to play. I always thought on balance it probably served us right for what we stole from the Empire. But if the US President wants to rake over old coals, well.
As an afterthought, I also don’t think that we’ve maybe thought hard enough (thru a 21C lens) about a emotionally delicate 19YO being enticed into marrying a much older man, whose affections were elsewhere, for breeding purposes, leading to a series of consequences that eventually led to her death.

I’ve had enough of war mongering toxicity on our news channels from leaders of foreign nations. I’d prefer to see more factual reports on the ongoing situation & less extended coverage of propaganda. By all means bullet point the basic content against the verified factual analysis. But that’s it.
