Next steps should include equipping ourselves. Reading about the past so we can understand what's coming, going back to creating spaces that are intentionally for US, not just the BLM-ified focus on "moving liberals along", learning to take care of & materially protect each other
May all of us be free from the lies of these partisan spaces & what they take from us. The idea that we must access power by any means necessary without real critique or analysis in terms of how to hold each other accountable IN PURSUIT of so-called power has rotted our minds
Can we talk about how those who try to engage in these spaces with principle get beaten down by accusations of "a lack of strategy" or being "too emotional"?
These partisan spaces aren't saveable. Having "good" stances on Palestine didn't save the NDP...
Can we talk about it yet?
How so much movement work and energy gets co-opted by electoral politics (and I participated and facilitated in this)? Can we talk about how those who enter these spaces and try to take their principles with them get eaten alive?
I wish I could vote for @sarahjama.bsky.social - she is someone who is doing politics differently. Not mindlessly towing the party line, rather listening and responding to constituents and their needs. She’s a fierce and powerful antidote for the politics of oppression and dehumanization.

We had such a busy day today! Multiple groups of canvassers spoke to voters across Hamilton Centre about advanced voting. 💜💛
