Children don’t belong in immigration detention. They deserve freedom and to be with their families.
At the Dilley facility in Texas, 1,000+ people, including infants, are held with limited protection.
Congress must reject funding to expand detention. #EndFamilyDetention #FamiliesBelongTogether
In 2 weeks, 5 kids lost their fathers after ICE at Adelanto allegedly ignored two men’s repeated pleas for medical care. With @PublicCounsel, @CHIRLA & named plaintiffs, we’ve filed for a preliminary injunction in L.T. v. ICE. More: www.immdef.org/litigation-a...
These are letters and drawings from children at the Dilley Detention Center in Texas.
Trump isn’t going after the “worst of the worst.” He’s going after kids — who should be home, in school, and playing with their friends.
This is absolutely heartbreaking — and it must end.

“The Wrap” is a cruel, inhumane tool used to oppress, torture, and injure all those DHS considers public enemies.
“The use of full body restraints - even after shackling people - is an extreme, senseless measure that defies basic humanity and can lead to suffocation,” said @cargiolim.bsky.social Directing Atty of Policy and Advocacy of ImmDef. " Thank you @ramirez.house.gov

Black History Month reminds us that the fight for freedom is intersectional.✊🏾✨
The struggle for civil rights and immigrant rights is deeply interconnected, grounded in the same hope for dignity, opportunity, and justice for every person.
This 53 year old man who lived in my neighborhood w/no criminal record & who had been in the US for 30 years, was detained and thrown into a cold cell for days, caught pneumonia and COVID there and deported.
He finally died.
I am so angry.

You know this is a completely deliberate choice that is not required, because there was JUST another shutdown and they didn’t do it then.
Anyway, not good that the admin is deliberately making air travel more annoying to try to win a political fight. Lot of people will miss flights.
New year, new platform. 👋
Same fight for human rights.
We’re officially on Bluesky — because human rights conversations belong everywhere people care about dignity, freedom, and justice.
Follow along. More to come.

Journalists Arrested in Cameroon While Reporting on Trump’s Secretive Deportation Program www.nytimes.com/2026/02/18/w...
Journalists were arrested in Cameroon while investigating a secretive Trump admin effort to deport migrants.
“None of the deportees are Cameroonian citizens. And almost all had received protection from American courts, which banned the government from sending them back to their home countries.”
The President is lying to the public:
1) For the past century, the federal government has been responsible for the Potomac Interceptor – not Maryland. The sewage pipe is on federal land.

Show your love for immigrants by calling your reps and urging them to reject additional DHS funding until ICE's terror stops, funds are cut, and ICE and CBP are out of our communities❣️

People who immigrate to the U.S. come here to find safety and opportunity and contribute to our communities.
We should be welcomed with dignity, not demonized.

Ending this operation is not enough.
We need justice and accountability. That starts with independent investigations into the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, economic restitution for businesses impacted, abolishing ICE, and the impeachment of Kristi Noem.
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: “I was literally begging the agent who was holding me back to let me do CPR,” she told The Intercept.
ICE is spending $38 billion to open detention centers and field offices all across the country — including RIGHT HERE in Essex County.
They want to move into a building in Roseland that's right next to a childcare center.
Hell no.

Green infographic with a torn-paper divider. Headline text reads: “Trump’s Big Bad Bill pumped $170 billion into the mass deportation and detention agenda, while gutting funding for Medicaid.” A broken heart icon and a small illustration of an adult holding a child’s hand appear near the top. Below the tear, text states: “That’s enough money to fund Medicaid for 6 million children and 4 million adults for four years.” Icons of a Medicaid card and a doctor’s coat appear alongside the text. The graphic ends with the message, “We need to reprioritize,” and includes the National Priorities Project logo.

Today, Sandra Bland would’ve turned 39.
In 2015, Sandra was stopped by police in Texas. She later died in police custody.
Sandra Bland’s death reminds us that lack of accountability and justice is not new to the U.S.
