DC HOUSE ADS – IMPACT COMICS – 03-11-2026
Outside of the first issue of Legend of Shield, Impact Comics was something that I did not read when they were first published . In 1997, I bought pretty much the entire line from a comic shop that was going out business and filled in the one or two issues…
Rachel and I finished the third season of School Spirits tonight.
I am happy to report that I can indeed tie the show back to Superman.
The guy who plays Van Heidt was in the Smallville second season episode Precipice. He was the dude Clark threw into the cop car.
GREEN LANTERN WHO’S WHO PAGES (1990 SERIES) – 03-10-2026
Final Green Lantern post for the minute. Yesterday I posted pages from the original Who's Who series. Today I present the pages from the 1990 Who's Who series. This was the binder series which I thought was just about the coolest thing ever…
Also, Dear DC Comics, please put out an Armageddon 2001 omnibus. It would be keen.
2nd part of the interview here.

Y’all! @bitterscriptreader.bsky.social conducted a two part interview with Dan Jurgens celebrating the 35th anniversary of Armageddon 2001. I cannot recommend it enough.

I look forward to you getting to the death of the prison guard episode because that has the most ham fisted attempt to make us sympathize with Abbie.
As we discussed the other day, Abbie strikes me as an attempt to be different from the last two women that were in the role. Claire was very pro-choice and Jamie seemed to be as well.
The problem is that there was very little nuance to Abbie.
And her first episode is weird.
GREEN LANTERN WHO’S WHO PAGES (ORIGINAL SERIES) – 03-09-2026
Let's keep the Green Lantern train running. Like I wrote in the yesterday's post, back in 2011, I scanned a bunch of stuff because I was excited for the (then) upcoming Green Lantern film. For whatever reason, I thought it was a good…
…the people that don’t understand how trailers are supposed to work, and the SnyderBros…yeah, I want this things to succeed so much right now. Out of spite. 2/2
So, I really wasn’t feeling The Lanterns trailer for a variety of reasons. Mostly I just didn’t vibe with the tone.
But after seeing the reaction to it on social media and between everyone apparently suddenly becoming an expert on Green Lantern lore…/1

MORE RANDOM GREEN LANTERN STUFF – 03-08-26
Back in 2011 I scanned a bunch of stuff Green Lantern related because the movie was about to come out and I was kind of excited. So, given yesterday's GL centric post, it seemed like a good time to repost some of those images. Back in 1983, DC began…
Yes. It’s something DiDio cited as the reason they brought back Kara Zor-El.
SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT – 03-07-2026 – GREEN LANTERN(S)

THE OVERLOOKED DARK KNIGHT ROAD TO EPISODE 100 PART 1 – THAT TIME ANDY & MIKE TALKED ABOUT BATMAN #400
The Road to Episode 100 Part 1 - That Time Andy & Mike Talked About Batman #400 Episode 100 of The Overlooked Dark Knight three weeks away! To celebrate this milestone, Andy and Mike thought it…
Narrated by Peter Coyote.
This was a wild ride. Props to Mark Waid for taking DC’s wonky, constantly shifting continuity restarts and making some kind of sense out of it.
Dropping tomorrow! The road to episode 100 of The Overlooked Dark Knight begins with a re-release of the very first time Andrew Leyland & I talked Batman! It’s an episode of Bailey’s Batman Podcast from 2012 where Andy and I went over Batman 400.
For three solid hours.
We were chatty back then.
MARVEL HOUSE ADS – JOIN THE G.I. JOE MOBILE STRIKE FORCE
To be fair, this isn't a house ad for a Marvel series, but I scanned this years ago from a Marvel comic, so I'm counting it. Given recent events and my current feelings about the American military it feels a little weird to be writing about…
Outcasters: Under Siege Episode One directory.libsyn.com/episode/inde...
@timprice17.bsky.social and special guest host @ryandaly.bsky.social Daly discuss The Avengers #270 (1986), the first part of our coverage of The Avengers: Under Siege.
When Shag and I interviewed him sixteen years ago on Views (aside…Jesus) I spent a portion of the interview asking him about Criminal Intent and an episode he wrote. He was more animated talking about that than the comic stuff.
That is dead on accurate.
And it made Jamie’s return during Abbie’s tenure all the better. Because she stood on her convictions while still trying to do what she’s required as a lawyer.
Carmichael had some great episodes but you are right about the one gear thing. She seemed to be the “conservative woman” to clash with Jack’s more liberal leanings.
(Which is funny to think today because his liberalism is no longer a thing.)
She was great during the Russian mob story though.
One of the low key cool things about the Law and Order episode is that it’s a payoff to a throwaway scene between Jaimie and Harmon in an earlier episode.
And yeah, the more I rewatch these episodes the more I am convinced that the McCoy/Ross era is the best a great series.
If I had a nickel for every time David Marshall Grant played an ADA on a Law and Order series that was investigated for a crime I’d have two nickels.
Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

RAMBLINGS OF A MIDDLE-AGED COMIC BOOK FAN – 03-03-2026 – CONFESSIONS OF A WOULD-BE BASEBALL CARD COLLECTOR
Before I started getting comics as a going concern in the late spring/early summer of 1987 I flirted with the idea of collecting baseball cards. I have no idea why. I wasn’t into baseball at…
