Finally found a baby step jogging pace that’s verifiably, undeniably below LT1 for me. This after a 45 minute steady pace block so a valid measurement.

One of the things that really trips a lot of analysts, including ones with real skin in the game, is that they refuse - absolutely refuse - to accept how stupid Trump very obviously is. He has no knowledge of anything, is incapable of learning, and only remembers the last thing to happen to him.

Might we come to a situation where I must pick it as my post white Kia ride and the Buzz lives besides it? Possibly. But maybe just a straight swap over from van to van.

Update: I informed my Buzz-driving wife of the existence of this Mercedes. And after discussing the high points (length, kWh, seating config) she was all "ok, I concede" more or less.

you know it's going to be

white
off white
light grey
dark grey
blue so dark almost black
super dark grey
black
brown
and red on like 2 of them

This is indeed just the right combination of features to get my wife out of her beloved ID.Buzz's driver's seat: more room, more range, more seats, and some actually useful features.

To recap: AWD or FWD (although who's going to buy that one?). 115 kWh. 209" or potentially 215" length variants. 7-8 passenger seating. And air suspension optional and AWS: the Buzz doesn't ride poorly, but a cushier ride and better turning radius would be way better than a sharp stick in the eye.

The other option is this power folding 3 seat absolute monstrosity. Not removable and just a tremendous impediment to cargo loading even folded. This thing is ridiculous. (And I bet it'll be paired with the business class second row seating config, for better or worse.)

10.03.2026 20:09 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

One 3rd row option will be a 60/40 split bench, manually folding (as if!). This is the proper choice, as it can be removed.

The second and third row setup is a bit more controversial, imo. They promise either a 3 seat bench in the middle, or captains chairs, or these obscene Chinese market thrones that kinda get out of the way for 3rd row access.

And 3 seats wide in the back... but that tale isn't over.

Interior looks to be nice in the modern big-screen Mercedes style. At least 4 climate zones here, a rear entertainment screen possibly big enough to distract my kids from their own iPads, and more storage nooks than the spartan ID.Buzz. This part is fine.

10.03.2026 20:09 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Exterior is pretty self-explanatory: van shape, some pretty decent wheel choices, probably super boring colors other than that red (with red/black jarring interior) they also showed. Pano roof, two sliding doors, standard stuff.

10.03.2026 20:09 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I asked in the above-quoted post for 10" more length and 10-20 more kWh than our 91 kWh gross, 86 kWh usable, 195.4" length ID.Buzz.

And the short (!) VLE will be 209" pushed by an 800V 115 kWh pack that quick charges at 300 kW, with a 215" extended variant!

Well, hot damn, my prayers for the US market appear to have been answered in the Mercedes-Benz VLE.

First off, we are slated to get it in 2027. So it's not a Chinese-market-only thing like various Geely and Volvo executive transports teased.

It’s official: this was Colorado’s warmest winter on record, and it wasn’t close.

Average statewide Dec-Feb temperature of 33.6Β° was almost 2Β° warmer than the previous record of 32.0Β° (1980-81).

La NiΓ±a + warming climate to blame (notice linear temp increase below).

(Recall that I live in CO and finalized my transaction on Dec 31, 2024 before one of the planned credit sunsets. MSRP - VW lease cash captured at buyout - CO credit signed over as a cap cost reduction is that ~$60k figure.)

10.03.2026 06:09 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Related: my net $60k price for a 1st Edition 4Motion looks quite reasonable against that $58k for a Pinnacle AWD eh, especially given negligible operating costs.

I’m highly disappointed. VW remains the only comparable offering in the market, stagnant without competition. Maybe Mercedes will step in.

Chrysler Just Priced The 2027 Pacifica Facelift, And Buyers Might Like The News | Carscoops The prices of some variants have been cut for 2027, which is welcome news for shoppers

The PHEV Pacifica was introduced for the 2017 model year. And now come the 2027 model it’s gone. Only ICE Pentastar drivetrains on offer, a new fascia, and the same L2 ADAS package on our old 2018 and 2019 ones.

Honda’s coming out with battery powered lawn mowers. I’ll look into this if/when my 25” Greenworks kicks the bucket. (The Greenworks is fine but definitely a step or three below my old gas Honda in mulching performance.)

in case any of y'all need or want a quiet shop vac, Costco.com has the 12 gallon variant of the DeWalt Stealthsonic shipped for $125.

given that I bought the same one a solid 2.5* years ago from Lowes for $134 what with inflation and all this is a deal

I’d quibble with these two 90% SOC range estimates… but they’re actually quite accurate despite both of these being nominally 231 mile cars at 100% per the EPA.

Anyway, lines were crazy as all of Denver came up. This is the gondola but Pano was akin to this all day, too.

Reserve pass paid for itself today: lapped Panoramic repeatedly. For said powder. Wore myself out early and called it a day after taking one run with Mariko’s group after lunch.
