From the Tehran Times - photos of the school CHILDREN killed by an AMERICAN tomahawk cruise missile. The headline: TRUMP, LOOK THEM IN THE EYES

Regardless of how you feel about this war, we shouldn't forget that American service members are putting their lives at risk to make everything you buy much more expensive and to make you forget about Jeffrey Epstein.
As bad as it was then, the Republican Party has become so much worse in the last 25 years.

I wrote before that I’m looking forward to the Yum Brands guide to the best tires
I don’t think Trump and his people are capable of engineering “distractions,” I think the mind-numbing chaos we see every day is straightforwardly the result of giving the dumbest, cruelest, most corrupt, most selfish people of a generation near-unmitigated power
you ever think how this is all because america elected a centre-left black president once, and the right never forgave the left for it
I propose a deal on behalf of the American people: we deliver our executive branch and congressional leaders to the Iranian government to stand trial for their crimes, and in exchange they reopen the Strait of Hormuz
It's extremely clear that the US doesn't really have an objective here except to inflict maximum pain, and attacking water supply is going to end catastrophically for the entire region. It's not just a war crime, it's approaching a crime against humanity.
Our local high school is putting on “Chicago: The Teen Version” and I honestly have trouble imagining what they had to do to the play to get it suitable for high school.

My #trachea and my #esophagus are having a competition over which can be the most irritated, and I’m like guys, come on, you can just be a little bit irritated, you don’t need to work so hard
We all hate the time change, and this is your semi-annual reminder that permanent standard time is better than permanent daylight time

it’s only a sandwich if it comes from the town of Sandwich in Kent, England. Otherwise, it’s just sparkling finger food.
(I'm sure others thought of this first)
If you don’t like the news, go out and buy some of your own

I keep reading about Platner and I figure the one thing that’s certain is that nobody from Maine would care about my opinion whatever it were, so I’m not going to bother developing one.
I have the solution: the clock resets to 6:30 am at the moment of every sunrise, and depending on the time of year the days are slightly longer or shorter than 24 hours.

To be fair at that time of year sun is basically a theoretical concept in Vancouver
I just sent my daughter off to her elementary school. I don't have words for the absolute horror of my watching my own government carry out such a monstrous act. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/01/w...
Just walked my daughter to her elementary school. All I can think about is Minab.

I pictured him as looking like Demetri Martin when Martin was on the Daily Show. Nope.
For my entire life, the people protesting US wars have always been ultimately vindicated and that being right is completely forgotten when the next war comes.
The question is can you run it like Skytrain in Vancouver: small trains, very very high frequency since each train is automated. Central Subway doesn’t have a grade-separated section long enough to run this, but a new line might.
Post old memes to confuse young people.
Post a pic, no context, to bring some zen to the feed.
Took me years (admittedly, the years roughly 1980-1983, starting when I was ten) to figure out the squiggle spelled a word.
On the one hand, it makes sense to avoid the expense of bilevel cars, and a divided fleet in general, if you can avoid it. But doesn’t it imply a dramatic reduction in capacity, or at the very least, lots of operational issues where people can’t enter or exit except in the middle of the train?
Pre-pandemic Amtrak had several bus stops in downtown SF, including at Caltrain.
