"As well as topping up antibodies, Baker said getting regular boosters reduced the risk of Long Covid.
The "disabling illness" was not being monitored at all in New Zealand which Baker said was a "gap" in tracking the virus."
www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...
βBaker said people were not getting booster shots and for many, it had been quite some time since they were last infected and antibodies were dropping.
It was enough to give the virus "the edge".β
Might be an idea to have a louder health/comms response given our health system is much worse vs 2020π«

Graphic for Long Covid Awareness Month titled βFacts about Long Covid we wish were not true: #4.β The text states that being in peak physical condition does not protect someone from Long Covid. It explainsthat professional runners, collegiate swimmers, and other athletes have been sidelined, and that formerly active people may experience post-exertional malaise, where even a short walk can trigger a debilitating crash. A teal and gray Long Covid awareness ribbon appears at the top, and a silhouette of a volleyball player appears on the left. The website longcovidcollective.org appears at the bottom.
Graphic for Long Covid Awareness Month titled βFacts about Long Covid we wish were not true: #5.β The text explains that invisible illness is often treated like an imaginary one. The 2nd Covid inquiry report shows broad approval for decisions made.
Were the funds well spent on two inquiries going over the same stuff - lockdowns, vaccines, testing, etc?
No.
Where is the inquiry looking into disinformation and Long Covid?
Having sufficient leave is really important. People need to be able to isolate while infectious. Also resting with a Covid infection can lower the risk of long term effects.

Just noting the NZ Greens have been consistently clear that changes that will impact how much sick leave people get will disproportionately impact women.
Following on from this, in a Covid wave scenario this disproportionately increases health risk to women.
Yet another clear reason to vote Green.
I am simply shocked this could have happened.
Iβm working with Governor Gretchen Whitmer on trying to save The Great Lakes from the rather violent and destructive Asian Carp, which is rapidly taking over Lake Michigan, and all of the beautiful surrounds. Iβll be asking other Governors to join into this fight, including those of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, New York and, of course, the future Governor of Canada, Mark Carney, who I know will be happy to contribute to this worthy cause. Separately, I am also working to save The Great Salt Lake, in Utah, which, in a short period of time, if nothing is done, will have no water. This is on top of everything else I am doing. Only βTRUMPβ CAN DO IT! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Gastroparesis is the first warning of PEM for me.

Pretty sure that anyone with ME reading this is terrified for him.
His delayed exhaustion is a very ME thing, also the fact that it was triggered by a virus. And POTS is common w/ME.
If it's ME, this kind of forced exertion is extremely dangerous. I hope it isn't, but it raises all the red flags.
