Italy is complicit in grave crimes against humanity: killings, torture, and systematic abuse. It’s not just migration policy that must be overhauled, both at home (see detention centers) and abroad (Libya, Tunisia, Balkan route), but all ties with Libya should be cut: economic, political, cultural.
On Wednesday, Italy’s Parliament approved the automatic renewal of the 2017 Memorandum of Understanding with Libya (a deal first signed by a center-left government).
