I just finished another large, open-weave bowl. It is 14 1/2" diameter and 3" tall. On this one, I chose colors to represent a sunset. This piece is headed for the Second Street Gallery in Bandon Oregon.

Fresh out of the kiln. This open weave bowl is the largest I've yet attempted at 14 1/2" diameter and 3" tall.
Unfortunately, they would have to trust DT to keep his end of the deal and not just raise them again for some arbitrary reason. We all know can't be trusted, so making any kind of deal with him is a sucker's game.
Beaverton Oregon Hands Off rally today. Crowd size estimated to be between 4000 and 5000 people.
As a social security recipient, I've been nervous lately, watching to see if my monthly deposit shows up. It always arrives on the 3rd, except when that day is a holiday; then it comes a day or two early. This month, it arrived on the 1st, even though the 3rd is just a normal Thursday. Anyone else?
But we can be sure that all of the MAGA'ts would be telling us that the election was stolen and that everything would have been so much better if trump was president.
Thank-you. I hope you figure out how to post pictures of your glass here. I'd love to see it. I'm still a novice with Bluesky, so wasn't sure if I would be successful at posting. I tried to post 6 pictures, but apparently 4 is the limit. Who knew?
Time Portal VII, 12 1/4" diameter
Red & Orange weave bowl, 6 1/4" x 2"
Red & Orange coral bowl, 5 1/4" x 1 3/4"
Organically shaped green coral bowl, 10 1/4" x 3 3/4"
With all of the serious news going on right now and posts related to that, I feel kind of guilty about posting anything else. However, when I joined Bluesky, it was with the hope that it could someday replace FB, so I'm sharing some photos of some glass artwork that I took to a gallery today.
I'm just hoping that we are able to continue having elections long enough to elect another 10 presidents. Also, 45 presidents doesn't include president musk. He and trump can fight it out for the bottom spot on the list.
My first memory of John Byner was on a TV show hosted, I think, by Eddy Arnold where John played a recurring character named Felix Foster Fossiddy. I don't know why, but that name has stuck in my memory.
Great list, but I'm sorry to say that Bob Newhart needs to be moved to the bottom part of the list.
Jane Terry@bellajane1.bsky.socialβ¬, you "liked" my comment above questioning this post. I'd really appreciate if you would explain why you posted this in the first place. What is your point?
I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this post. It appears that you're saying that Elon's Nazi salute was OK because well known liberals have also held out their hand in a similar fashion. Do you think I'm a Libtard because I realize that these people don't admire Nazis like Musk does.
I hate trump and musk too, but I don't think we should emulate their casting of blame without evidence. How did firing a high level FAA official lead directly to this crash?
trump is blaming DEI for the plane crash without any evidence. That's disappointing, but exactly what I'd expect from trump. What disappoints me more is those on the other side blaming trump's firing of senior FAA officials. That probably didn't lead directly to this crash. Let's be better than him.
If this type of design appeals to you, then a class with Ian will definitely be worth your time. He's an excellent instructor and you'll learn a lot. It's an intense class where every day is full, but he works hard to make sure everyone succeeds.
Ian is an excellent instructor so I'm sure you'll enjoy the class. I took the class at Milkweed Arts. Is that where you're taking it?
Please excuse my typo above. The correct spelling of Ian's last name is Chadwick. Unfortunately, Bluesky doesn't yet support editing of one's own posts.
After I got home from the Ian Chadwich class mentioned in my previous post, I decided to try making a piece using the same basic technique and pattern, but adapted to 6-fold symmetry rather than 4-fold as was used in the class piece. This is the result.
In early December of last year, I had the opportunity to take a class from Ian Chadwick. These pictures show the results. The first picture is the project I made in class; It's about 9 3/8" square. The second picture is of a 6" square, using spare parts left over from the main project.
It's nice to hear from one billionaire that isn't in Trump's pocket. I appreciate your political posts, but would also be interested in your take on financial news.
